Two special individuals celebrated their 100th birthday on May 8th, 2026: Sir David Attenborough and our dear Marjorie Davies! While we couldn't attend the event at the Royal Albert Hall to join Sir David, we certainly had our own celebration here at the Bradbury Care Centre.

Marjorie has attended the Bradbury Care Centre for 3 years now and says she has loved it since day one! she quickly made a bond with 3 other ladies and they soon gained the reputation of sitting in the naughty corner. its where all the noise and laughter generally came from during lunch times. She struck up a good friendship with our very own comedian and magician Arthur. They loved the banter and bounced off each other perfectly.
On her exciting day, we arranged for her to go live on Radio Shropshire to chat with Michaela. Marjorie shared a few secrets to a long and happy life, advising to 'Work hard,' and 'No messing about' she mentioned her good fortune in health, wealth, and family. She has a deep affection for the countryside, having been a farmer in south Shropshire, Bridgnorth during her youth, and often reminisces with pride about that time, including how she used to milk by hand because machines were not available to them back then.
Pictured above is Marjorie chatting on air to Michaela (pic 1 and 2) then pictured with young farmers, Owen and Amelia, representatives holding her favourite phrase 'Young farmers do it in Wellies'
During her day she had a surprise visit from Whitchurch Town pirate who also burst in to song and got the room clapping along.
This was followed by Whitchurch Town Mayor who popped in, Rose Hall.

The afternoon was full of music and laughter, thanks to Richie Vee for serenading us and making it a memorable day. Marjorie's son and granddaughter were also present for the celebrations, and we believe they partied throughout the weekend.
A big thank you to the Management and staff who put a lot of work in behind the scenes to make it a special celebration of 100 years.
